Crazy

So we had a very interesting night last night.

There are lines and lines of storms pushing through our area right now (it IS spring in Texas after all) and we were awoken to a big part of it last night. I heard the rain hitting our windows at a strange angle which naturally made me think tornado. I got up to look out the back yard, our power was off - my brand new umbrella that I'd bought for our patio was broken into several pieces and slammed up against the back doors. The patio table was turned over, chairs were missing. The rain was slanted.

I got back into bed and told Rodney that I thought a tornado was coming. 5 minutes later, the tornado sirens started going off.

I jumped out of bed and ran into Rylee's room. I scooped her up and yelled for Rodney to come get in the bathtub with us (he was looking outside). The sirens went off for a little while. It got really quiet for a few minutes and I was sure it was coming right for us. Thankfully, the sirens stopped and we were in the clear.

Tornados really scare me. I was actually in one when I was in 2nd grade, in Austin. Since then, storms like this make me very nervous.

Just down our street this morning, I noticed that several people's fences were completely gone and two different buildings were in complete shambles. All that was left was some mangled up metal. Very scary.

Even though I lost the umbrella that I JUST BOUGHT LAST SATURDAY, I do still have some things to look forward to.

Tomorrow is my birthday and tonight The Office is back on tv.
