Guess someone's going to Colorado this year...

Well, we decided that Rylee will go to Winter Park with us this year. We ended up in Sun and Ski Sports last weekend (before we had decided if she was going or not) and left with a new ski suit and cute pink goggles. The 50% off sign made the decision for us.

She can't board until she's 6 but she'll learn to ski for now!

Spur of the moment

So I bought these shoes over the weekend.

What can I say? I was feeling a little saucy.

I think I was on a mental high from all of the clothes I tried on. I was in search of something new (nothing around here fits me too well these days) and can I just say, it was actually fun to try on clothes for a change! Anyway, I was looking for something to wear to The Lott's anniversary party (owners, Charlie Uniform Tango) - a party that we happen to be making a very fancy cake for and I decided that I'd go out on a whim and buy some shoes that I wouldn't normally.

Love the shape, love the height -- the colors are a little out there for me. Still, they look good on and they go with what I bought to wear nicely. I'm still nervous about wearing them. I'm pretty fashion forward when it comes to clothing and I'm all about trying different things but I'm also the kind of girl who has a pair of black heels, a pair of black boots, and a pair of black flip flops.

What do you guys think? Too much or okay?

And yes, they are from Jessica Simpson's line. I'm not a huge fan of the girl but I do like her shoes.

Oh, and I guess it's been decided that Rylee will be going with us this year on the annual ski/snowboarding trip. We were in Sun and Ski Sports this weekend, they were having their annual clearance (of last years line) and we found the cutest little ski suit and goggles for the girl. We got $120 worth of clothes for $35. Can't beat that!

Hello there!

Is this thing on?!?

I'm not going to make excuses for my absence.

Actually, I am. There have been bouts with illness, wedding cakes, cake classes, weight loss (more on that in a second), hospital visits, and many other things that have prevented me from updating in a proper manner!

Rylee was super sick, I was super sick (still recovering from a terrible sinus infection that just will not go away), we've had multiple cake and cutter orders every week, I've been teaching the cake class here at the house every week for a month and a half, my FIL had a heart attack and he was in the hospital for a while (he's better now)... it's been crazy around here!

Anyway, things seem like they are slowing a tad at the moment. This week is pretty calm but next week starts the beginning of another crazy month and a half.

In some really good news - I've lost about 25 pounds! It feels pretty good and I'm finally back to where I was before Rylee was born. ( I did get there right after she was born but then I started baking cakes). Anyway, I'm on a mission to lose more so wish me luck!

This week was Rylee's last week of the summer ballet session. Since it was the last week, we were allowed to come in, observe the class and take pictures. She starts back up for the year next week. We're probably going to try a more structured gymnastics class pretty soon too. We did My Gym for a while earlier this year. She really loved it but it was more like an hour of playtime vs. an hour learning something.

Here are some pictures that I took yesterday of Rylee as a ballerina:
